201 industrial projects implemented in Kazakhstan in 2020

Almaty. August 10. Information Center - As part of the Industrialization Map and Business Support Maps of the regions, 201 projects worth 916.8 billion tenge were implemented in Kazakhstan in 2020, 18.6 thousand new jobs were created, the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development said, The Times of Central Asia reports.
Below are the main projects that were implemented in 2020.
In Temirtau, Karaganda region, Linde Gas LLP launched the production of industrial gases – oxygen and nitrogen – for the steel production of ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC. The new plant produces oxygen gas and nitrogen gas, which are necessary for the production of cast iron, steel and rolled metal. The range of applications of industrial gases is quite wide — from medicine to the production of electronics, where high-purity gases and special gases are used.
A new plant for the production of passenger buses, quarry and road construction equipment Yutong — QazTehna LLP — was opened in Saran, Karaganda region. The plant plans to produce about 1200 units of buses and 500 special equipment per year. This will make it possible to significantly influence the situation with the worn-out public transport fleet of Kazakhstan at the first stage.
Another project in the Karaganda region was implemented within the framework of the Business Support Map of the region — the foundry and the ferroalloy plant of Qaz Carbon LLP. The company produces cast-iron grinding balls for processing plants, brake pads for railway transport, as well as shaped casting.
In Almaty, Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan launched the production of Hyundai passenger cars of the Accent, Elantra, Sonata, Creta, Tucson, and Santa Fe models. The plant was built taking into account modern technologies of the world automotive industry and the requirements of environmental standards. During the months of 2021, the company produced more than 7 thousand units of passenger cars, increasing the volume by 18 times. By the end of 2021, the company plans to increase the production to 30 thousand cars, of which more than 6 thousand will be exported.
In July 2020, an automated conveyor line of the ModeX house-building plant was opened in Nur-Sultan. The company has implemented innovative technologies of large-block housing construction used in the USA, Singapore and Germany, which will reduce the construction time, improve its quality and reduce the cost of housing. Modular blocks can be used in the construction of residential complexes, cottages, social infrastructure facilities, including educational institutions, shopping pavilions, office premises and others.
Also in 2020, Ulba-TVS LLP launched a project for the production of fuel assemblies for nuclear power plants in the East Kazakhstan region.
